Terms and Conditions

By booking a vehicle or related services with Oman Car Hire, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

Driver Requirements

  • Minimum age: 23 years
  • Valid driving license required (Omani or international)
  • Passport or national ID required for verification
  • Additional drivers must be registered and meet the same requirements

Rental Duration & Extensions

  • Rental periods are calculated on a 24-hour basis
  • Late returns may incur additional charges
  • Extensions must be approved in advance and are subject to availability

Payment Terms

  • Payment is required in advance or at the time of vehicle pickup
  • Accepted methods: cash, credit/debit card, or online transfer
  • A security deposit may be required depending on vehicle type

Vehicle Use

  • Vehicles must not be used for off-road driving unless approved and rented specifically for that purpose (e.g., 4x4s)
  • The renter is responsible for any fines, damages, or violations incurred during the rental period
  • Vehicles must not be used for illegal purposes, racing, or towing

Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit, based on the type of car selected, is required at the time of booking. This deposit is held to cover potential traffic fines, damages, fuel shortages, or any additional charges that may arise during the rental period.

Any applicable deductions will be made from the security deposit, and the remaining balance will be refunded. The security deposit will be held for up to 30 days after the return of the vehicle to allow for the processing of any delayed fines or penalties issued by authorities.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made at least 48 hours before pickup time are eligible for a full refund.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of pickup time may incur a fee of one rental day or 25% of the total booking value, whichever is higher.

Refund Policy

  • Full refunds will be issued for eligible cancellations, booking errors, or unavailable vehicles.
  • Refunds are processed within 7 business days using the original payment method.
  • No refunds will be given for early returns, no-shows, or unused rental days unless agreed in writing.

Damage & Insurance Policy

  • Basic insurance is included unless otherwise specified.
  • The renter is responsible for any damages not covered by insurance or caused due to negligence.
  • Optional full coverage is available at an extra charge and must be requested before the rental begins.

Fuel Policy

  • Vehicles are provided with a certain fuel level and should be returned at the same level.
  • Refueling charges may apply if the tank is returned below the provided level.
  • Optional full coverage is available at an extra charge and must be requested before the rental begins.

Mileage Policy

  • Some rentals include unlimited mileage. Others may have mileage limits as specified at the time of booking.

Breakdown & Roadside Assistance

  • We provide 24/7 roadside assistance within Oman.
  • In the case of breakdowns, contact us immediately for support.
  • Unauthorized repairs are not permitted.

Modifications & Replacements

  • Oman Car Hire reserves the right to modify the booking or replace the vehicle with a similar model due to unforeseen circumstances or availability.
